Punukulu with Idly batter

Hi friends. Welcome to Bilvani’s kitchen.

Today I am going to share with you all an easy snack recipe which is prefect for cool winter evening – Punukulu with Idly batter.

We usually enjoy our winter evenings with a hot cup of tea along with plateful of snacks.

I suggest you to try this homemade snack that will satisfy your cravings.

The snack which I am going to share is super easy to prepare if idly batter is readily available at home.

So why late, let’s look into ingredients which are required to prepare this recipe.

Ingredients:

 1. Idly batter – 1 cup.
 2. Maida – 3 tablespoons.
 3. Rice flour – 3 tablespoons.
 4. Onions – finely chopped.
 5. Green chili – finely chopped.
 6. Ginger – finely grated.
 7. Salt – as per your taste.
 8. Jeera – 1 teaspoon.
 9. Coriander – finely chopped.
 10. Oil – for deep frying

The main purpose of using Maida and Rice flour is, it gives nice binding to idly batter and help reduce absorption of oil while frying.

Procedure

1. Take a bowl and add all the ingredients mentioned above. Give it a nice mix and let it rest for 15 minutes.

2. Now place a kadai on stove, pour oil that is sufficient for deep frying.

3. Let the oil heat for 2 minutes.

4. Grease your palm slightly with oil and take small amount idly batter and drop them in the oil.

5. While dropping batter keep the oil in slow flame and for frying switch to medium flame.

6. Do not fry on high flame, because it will turn brown from outside while remains raw inside.

7. So fry the dumplings on medium flame till they turn into golden brown color.

8. Once fried, dish out the dumplings from oil and keep them aside.

That’s it tasty and crunchy Punukulu is ready to eat. Serve it with chutney or sauce of your choice.

Treat your taste buds with this yummy snack. E

Eat healthy and Stay fit.
