Today I am going to share with you all a spicy powder recipe which can be prepared using basic ingredients that are readily available in our kitchen.
It's just 15 minutes effort and this powder can be stored in an air tight container for a month.
You can use this powder in many ways like below.You can mix it with
1. piping hot rice with raw onion and sambar/ rasam as side dish.
2. onion and have it with chapathi.
3. a bit oil and have it with idly or uttappam and many more.
It will be so finger licking your kids will demand for more.Make it less spicy or add little amount of powder in rice if mixing for kids.
Whenever you feel lazy to cook whole meal or whenever there is shortage of vegetables in your kitchen, then this powder will be your saviour. Just cook rice and rasam and you can complete your lunch for the day.
So let's learn the process of preparing this powder.
Below are the ingredients require to prepare this yummy powder.
Ingredients:
1. Toor dal-- 1 cup
2. Chana dal -- 2 tablespoons
3. Jeera -- 1 tablespoon.
4. Dry red chili -- 6
5. Salt -- as per your taste
6. Hing--1 teaspoon.
Preparation:
1. Place a pan on the stove.
2. Add toor dal(kandipappu) and dry roast it for 2 minutes.
3. Next add chana dal(senagapappu) and roast the mixture for another 2 minutes.
4. Next add jeera and a spoon of hing. Mix the ingredients thoroughly.
5. Dry roast the mixture for another 2 minutes.
6. Finally add dry chili. Dry roast for another 3 minutes.
7. Do not burn the ingredients . Just roast them till you smell a nice aroma.
8. Dish out the mixture to a plate and cool them for 15 minutes.
9. Take a mixer jar , add all the ingredients and grind them into a fine powder.
That's it spicy and tasty kandipodi is ready to eat.
Just give it a try.You will love it.
For rice : Take some rice , add 2 spoons of this powder and 2 spoons of oil and mix nicely. Have it with raw onion and rasam as side dish.
For chapatti : Take a bowl , add finely chopped onions, add 2 spoons of this powder, 2 spoons of oil and mix it nicely.Have it as a side dish for chapatti along with curry. Its a recipe from my husband and trust me you will love it.
