Hi friends. Good
Morning. Thank you for your continual support, it motivates and encourages me
to share more new recipes with you all. Today I want to share with you all an
interesting curry recipe.
Actually
friends I am so bored of eating lady’s finger either as fry or with tomato and
onion as gravy curry, but I have lot of lady’s finger at home which I recently
brought from grocery store. I need to use them fast otherwise they will turn
ripe. I was thinking about new ways of
cooking it, but couldn’t find any. I
even searched internet for new recipes but not satisfied with any. So out of
options and ideas I called my grandmother who is my last resort for new
recipes. She instantly told me a recipe along with the procedure which I am
going to share with you all today.
The curry is
so easy to cook and it’s very healthy because we need very less oil to cook. It
requires very less time, within 20 minutes your curry will be ready. It goes
well with both rice and chapati.
So why late,
let’s get into the procedure of preparing this curry.
Ingredients:
1. Lady's finger -- 1 inch length chopped.
2. Mustard seeds -- 1 teaspoon.
3. Chana dal -- 1 teaspoon.
4. Urad dal -- 1 teaspoon.
5. Salt -- 1 tablespoon.
6. Turmeric -- 1/4th spoon.
7. Tamarind -- small lemon size.
For
preparing Til seeds powder:
This can be stored for 1 month. you can mix this powder in white rice and eat with rasam and onion as side dish, trust me it tastes awesome.Give it a try.
1. White til seeds -- 100 g.
2. Dry red chili -- 10.
3. Salt -- 1 tablespoon.
Preparation:
1.First cut lady’s finger into 1 inch
size pieces as shown below. Do not cut into small pieces as we chop it for fry.
2. Place a pan on the stove. Add lady’s
finger pieces into the pan and stir for 3 minutes. Now add a pinch of turmeric,
salt, extracted tamarind juice and add very little amount of water and mix all
the ingredients well.
3. Cook the lady’s finger in slow flame.
It takes nearly 10 minutes to cook. When the lady’s finger pieces turns soft
then switch off the stove and transfer the pieces into a plate and let it cool.
4.Meanwhile
in another pan dry roast dry red chili for 5 minutes and keep it aside in a
plate. Now dry roast Til seeds till they turn a bit brown.
5.Transfer
dry red chilies, roasted Til seeds into a mixer jar, add salt and grind into a
fine powder.
6.In
the same pan add some oil and let it heat for a minute. Add mustard seeds, chana
dal, urad dal and 2 dry red chilies and fry for 3 minutes.
7.Once
fried add cooked lady’s finger pieces and saute for 1 minute.
8.Now
add 2 spoons of Til powder and mix all the ingredients well like below.
9.Cover
the pan with a lid and let it cook for 1 minute in medium flame.
10.Now transfer the curry to a bowl and its ready to serve to
your family.
